This nationally recognised qualification equips you with the knowledge and hands-on skills to act as an emergency medical first responder. You’ll learn to deliver initial patient care, manage incidents, and perform first aid in both workplace and community settings.

To enrol, you must:

  • Complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment.
  • Hold employment or a training placement in a relevant organisation.
  • Have personal safety equipment as required by your worksite.
  • Hold or apply for a Unique Student Identifier (USI).

The units are delivered in a practical, workplace-focused context to ensure participants can confidently apply their knowledge and skills in real situations.

To achieve the HLT21015 Certificate II in Medical Service First Response, participants must complete a total of 9 units:

  • 4 core units – compulsory for all participants.
  • 5 elective units – selected based on industry consultation to meet workplace requirements.
